My question is, what is the shifter handle supposed to look like with a bench seat? This is what mine had in it when I bought it. Not sure if it's the right one or not seems to work okay.

That is an aftermarket Hurst Super shifter, here is a pic. of the factory Hurst 4 spd. handle.

Yours looks like the Hurst Quarter Stick.
Popular in the 80’s for short throw.

Weird....I've got one just like it on a transmission from a 1970 dart.

Okay- but that’s we called them back in the day. All because the throw distance was shortened… we called them quarter stick or quarter throw. Never really measured them.
