340 Block markings?

Looking at a 72 challenger my friend picked up, it is supposed to be a 340 car but I can't find any markings on the block. Has anyone else ran into this?
Where else Can I look? I checked the head stampings and they appear to be 340 heads. I just want to put his mind at rest on this.

Is it not on the drivers side around the motor mount area? It would be contained in a series of numbers.

As stated above drivers side above starter cast in to side of the block or on the front of motor just below the drivers side head it is usually stamped in the block hard to read if painted, might have to scrap the paint off just below the head.
