selling a 340 with a RX302S-R6 camshaft which specs to 302/309 269/276 at .050 .654/.655 lift.
Part no 828 endurex lifters
3103 timing set
7970 pushrods
26099 elite race valve springs
733 titanium retainers
626 valve locks
custom ross pistons with an 11.7-1 compression ratio
1.5 ratio harland sharp rockers that are new
super victor intake ported to match the ported heads
850 king demon carburetor
Heads are ported with all new valves 2.02 1.60
fabbed aluminum valve covers
cast date of 06/30/1970
block is .030 over bore
.0025-.003 rod and main clearances
top ring .022 clearance
bottom ring .026 clearance
per street NOS spec.
bore clearance of .008
rotating assembly balanced by Cassel engines
machining on block done by howard green
engine saw 3 passes in a 71 dart with a 4500 stall and 26 inch tires. ran a best of 12.26 at 111. This engine has better ets in it but its limitation was too high gearing needed to go through the traps around 6700 rpm instead of the 6000 it was at. headers being too small only 1 5/8 and too small of a carb being an old berry grant 750. estimates with proper gearing and other improvements put it at 11.80 at 113. It also is running forged H beam rods and a forged crank.

another thing to add is i am willing to do trades. I'm going to be building a 400-470 stroker engine so if someone has some hughes rockers, or stealth heads stuff like that i can do partial trades
 
what pieces? and it is a completely assembled motor currently


You have pics of just the parts and then an assembled engine. So I didn't know if you pulled it back apart.

I'd be interested in the Pistons if they are 4.04 bore and you want to sell it in pieces.
 
selling a 340 with a RX302S-R6 camshaft which specs to 302/309 269/276 at .050 .654/.655 lift. is a solid roller with elite race valve springs and endure x lifters, hitech pushrods, harland sharp 1.5 ratio rockers on heavily ported x heads. ran a best of 12.26 but needed more gear, bigger headers only had 1 5/8 headers and only had a 750 cfm carb. but only has 3 passes on it. heads and mains studded, super victor intake with 850 king demon carb. forged 340 crank, h beam rods, custom ross pistons 11.7-1 compression. pulled out to replace with a 440 while the car is being back halfed
looking to get around 4500 for the engine. has well over that in parts. PM me with any questions located in Spokane washington

What does your car weigh? What gear ratio in rear axle? What transmission and converter? Slicks?
 
this was a 70 dart, 727 4500 stall, 26 inch dot slicks, going through the traps at 6000 rpm with 4.30 gears. with alittle more gear and headers that weren't choking it it would be an 11 sec engine

it needs like 1 7/8 headers. and the carb was alittle on the small side for the application as well. I do not know the weight on the car though. It is a super loose car though it was popping the fender out on the body after the few passes it made
 
Would like to add that it is open for trades. looking for b body cars mostly or a running a body
 
I will check tonight it is in storage. But if there is some sort of unseen x on there i will take a picture
 
Check top of intake runners or use a mirror to look bottom side of heads where intake ports are uncovered in valley area.
I'm betting the 7 digit numbers will end in 587 or 976.
 
X heads dont have that big square cast between the spark plugs. they have a big X there. they look like 73 340/360 heads to me, 1.88 intake valves. does this engine have a cast crank? you said 72 casting maybe a 73 340.
 
it is a forged crank engine it came with a cast crank though. the heads are not original to the engine
