ok guys, got a few questions here. putting a 383 together, .030 over with arias 11:1 pistons .620 solid flat tappet and full port 452 heads, but anyways, does anyone know the weight of a stock 383 connecting rod? and are the eagle 6.358 with 1.094 pin h beams the only aftermarket rod for a 383? the cost of having the stock rods replaced with arp bolts and bushed almost isnt worth it when you can get the eagles for $400. thanks in advance

Very few options for aftermarket rods for the 383/400 engine. However,Diamond Pistons has a nice piston for the 383 using 440 rods.I would use the Eagle 383 rods over recon'd the factory rods.

Last time I looked I couldn't find any Eagle 383 rods. Anyone have a source?

My 383 build:

KB400 -.040 pistons
MP .528 solid cam with stock style adj iron rockers
Cloyes Hex-a-just timing gear
Stealth heads prepped by Muscle Motors
RPM intake with 750 Biggs Carb

Going into a 1964 Dart with a 4 speed, 4.10 Dana

Mike

With decent light pistons, good bolts, and good balancing you won't break the factory rods.
