anybody experienced this? Not really correct or can I ignore it?
 
if those are the caps original to that case, and known to be on the correct sides, it is fine, worked for many miles. I would measure the bore diameter on any rebuild, sometimes they are a few thou over, and the caps need a little sanding down
 
i bought a used case and the caps were in it. Original? Who knows. case and caps measures the same so i think the holes for the bolts are Offset... strange. changing left to right is the same except the threads are not lining up that nice as above
 
I've seen them off before but not quite that much but I agree with Marco that it should be fine. In the first picture it looks like the threads for the adjuster are lined up good. That's a good sign. If you have a small inside mic measure the i.d. of each cap to make sure their what they should be
 
Have seen this many time that is the way they made some of them they drilled them put them on and threaded them , you will note the threads line up when you spin the adjusters in them .
