Is the headlight switch for a specific model? Or are they pretty universal for a-bodies?

Not sure. Looks the same, but the knob shaft on this one is longer.This was out of a 65-66 fury vip. I tried the shorter A body knob n shaft. That does fit.

I imagine it would. I think the oem distributor on your 65 cuda was cast iron. Not sure which distributor you have. Just really too many variables to that question.
