64 barracuda rear

Is there a standard rear size on a 64 barracuda with 273 v8 four speed. Need to order new leaf kit and want to get the order right the first time. Thanks in advance.

most of them came with 7 1/4, but I'm not sure if the 8 3/4 was available then also or not. It may have with a 273 4 speed, but I'm not sure.

64 came with 7-1/4 only. 8-3/4 started in late 65 and had to be ordered did not come standard with 4speed or formula s. Leaf springs are the same either way 7-1/4 or 8-3/4..

My understanding was 7 1/4 was only available in 64 and it's original so looks like 7.25 is the right answer. This forum has been very helpful in getting me a step closer to putting the 64 back on the road where it belongs. Thank you for the quick responses and help.

Springs will fit for several years beyond 64 no matter what axle.
