How do you remove the gas tank from the 65 Barracuda? if you need to take out the interior pieces to get the filler neck out first...how do youdo that?

specifics please...thanks!!!!!

With every thing disconnected from the tand you should be able to lower the tank and slide it off of the filler tube. The tube is just a slip fit thru a grommet into the tank.
If memory serves me right.
Anyone else out there agree?

Absolutely correct. Tank will slide off the filler. Just a large rubber grommet, but remember to disconnect sending unit wire. Once all connections, straps, and misc are disconnected....slides right off.

and i third that! by the way anyone need atank straps, fillerneck, etc for that car? i removed mine!tank is in excellent shape (ohio)

I'm fixing this car up as a HS auto shop project. We certainly can use the tank, as ours is rotted and leaking! We'll probably break the J bolt, ruin the strap and destroy the sending unit as it all comes out! lol My HS kids can be pretty heavy handed at times!

PM me with what you have and how much you want for the stuff please.
I'm interested in the parts. I'm in NJ. thanks!!!! Mike

Does anyone still make the filler neck grommet..
i had a heck of a time finding mine (15 years ago lol)

You can get everything from 1 guy on ebay. I'm sorry I cant remember who he is so I guess I shouldn't have said anything. But he has EVERYTHING!!!! Right down to new bolt for the strap. And I checked everywhere and he is the cheapest as well.
