In my '68 Dart I recently installed a good running '66 225/904 that came out of a '66 Valiant. My Dart is an original 225 car. The center link is only about 1/8" from the oil pan directly in line with the oil drain plug.

Does anybody know if an A-body V8 center link would add some clearance? I wouldn't mind hammering on the pan a bit, but I'm evaluating my options at this point. I don't want to pull the engine or the pan if I don't have to.
Thanks!

That's the wrong pan. It's for an early A body. Don't beat on it. Sell it to somebody lookin for one and put the right pan on your car.

The pan on the 66 is not the same for the 68. if you can find a pan from a 68 to 72 \6, you should be able to get the clearance you need without having to pop the motor out of the car. But almost all your work will be from underneath the car.

Thanks. I know where to get a '68 pan, and it looks like I should have room underneath to do the swap if I remove the link.
