Is there supposed to be a aluminum or stainless trim piece on top of the doors and at the quarter windows where it meets the glass channel?

Are you talking about channel on the body that the windows seal up against when rolled up?

If so then yes, there is a metal piece that screws to the body and the seal fit into.

I think he means the belt molding that is on top of the doors and quarter windows and a "C" shaped piece on the C-pillar, not available on a 69 Swinger.
