I bought a 72 Duster that had aftermarket seats installed but came with what the owner thought to be the original buckets. The Owner bought 1971 seat covers that require the plastic back side which clearly dont fit the 73-up bucket frames. Since the new 71 seat cover was installed on the back seat already I need to find seat frames that fit the covers I have. I have access to both 70-71 E Body frames and 70-74 Body frames. I've read in various locations either will work with the correct foams installed. Is this correct?

Thank you

A '72 would use the same frames as late '71 with the welded on cage around the latch hole & full backs with integrated hinge covers.

BUT - you would have to remove the inner spring basket to use it with '72 foam.

A, B & E-body bucket seat frames are typically the same within the same time period, but sometime during the '71 model year they stopped using the separate hinge covers.
