Have 727 trans that has been rebuilt with cheeta forward valve body.I need some advice on a couple of things.I adjusted the cable to get the shift points where i want. That seems fine.I think the 1st to 2nd shift is soft.

1-What controls the 1st to 2nd shift and how hard it shifts
2-What do the two band adjustments control

The front band is responsible for the 1-2 shift. When it applies it stops the front drum and sun shell from turning which in turn stops the rear planetary gearset changing the output gear ratio. How firm it shifts in mainly a part of the programming within the valve body although the accumulator also cushions the shift so if you block the accumulator it'll shift into 2nd firmer, but I don't recommend doing this if your running a stock converter because it also makes it engage into gear hard. The rear band is mainly only for reverse although it is engaged in manual low to share the load with the sprague.
