Ya I looked over that list a few times and didn't see anything.I have the Torqueflite ID list PDF saved in this computer and I don't see anything like that on it. Maybe somebody has a different list.

Hopefully there is one somewhereThat's gotta be it then. Evidently there's another list "somewhere".
No I think thats a B not an 8. Only other thing I know about this transmission was it was built by Keith hershberger from woodburn Oregon. Is that an early cable shift Torqueflite? That 80A99 works out to October 16, 1961 on the 1000 day calendar.

RRR- that boss looked like it was machined down to install new numbers. Some of the trans shops did that years ago due to vin number issues at state inspection in the late 70’s and early 80’s. All theft related stuff.
Here in CT they used to inspect cars and would randomly check engine and transmission numbers and if they did not match you needed proof where that part came from. They since stopped that.
i have tried looking up that guy and i havent been able to find any info they number in the transmission donsent have the last 4 of the number.CALL THAT GUY POSSIBLE?? (Hopefully not the artist now doing ceramic dinosaur mugs lol)

SURE DOES.
I assume you got this fugured out over at FBBO yesterday?? The 3681053 and 3515841 numbers are your application for the trans.. 4221 and 3496 will tell you in a 10,000 day calender the date they were built.... the last two four digit numbers are not important for your query.I want to buy a rebuild kit for a 727
Yessir - And thank you very much for taking the time to help me. I searched on - line for hours and got nowhere. Thanks to you and everyone else - I finally understand it now. It's first set/block of 4 digit numbers that tells us the year. I really appreciate you and everyone here very much.
