73 340 vin pad id

He meant the top pad on the driver's side of the block just below the cylinder head deck.
 
"G" is st Loius assy plant.

My best guess for the first digit is either they double stamped the "G" for St. Louis, or can it maybe be a "0" for 1970 model year....
 
Engine is a 73 340 was I am trying to determine if vin pad numbers will tell me what it came out of those numbers are stamped right above oil pan on passenger side
 
Won't two tell you what it was in, just the plant it was made and I believe the year, oh and the sequence #.
 
Take a picture or post the #'s on the front of the block directly below the driver side head as was suggested above ^^^

That info will help narrow it down.....
 
The numbers on the engine won't tell what type of car it came out of. There were only six models of car that could have had a 340 in 73 though.
 
It's from a duster, dart sport, charger or roadrunner.
 
Maybe not, but he will know more than he does now.
