Hey guys, my local U-Pullit has a massive 73 Dodge motor home sitting in the corner. I suppose they call it a class A type. Anyway, I peaked inside and saw its a big block with no carb. I thought I remembered reading something about motor home blocks being more beefy or something to that effect. Can someone tell me if this thing is worth salvaging for a future project, or is it like any other big block motor?

thanks....

It is probably a 440-3 block which has heads and a block with extra cooling holes,
you can put std heads on it with the proper gaskets

if they are the angle plug heads they are crap

it could have a forged crank but it most likely has a cast crank

I'd snag it if I were you. Besides the heads, you'll probably need a different water pump housing too.

It's a 440 dude!!!

Might be a 413. May or may not have the "high" water pump. The clue, as said earlier, is that the pump housing bolts to the front of the heads.
