Hope you don't mind,Parking my truck here.
I know everyone likes pictures, so that's mostly what it will be.

After 4 years, finally got the truck running / stopping better than factory.
recently installed front rotors/ brake pads, center link, pitman arm, and tie rod ends.
6 new tires... Road ready.....
so am I, ready to move (been here25 yrs) time to go

So, I look around #$%^&
what to do with "This STUFF"
have made some progress, in the last 3 years still will be awhile, got to start some where

Going to keep the Truck, Harley, car trailer / one car.

Now to mod the Truck for the trip...LOL

made a winch operated sliding ramp for the Harley.
bought the winch and front wheel lock,
the rest is Repurposed scrap steel, commercial airplane floor decks, needle bearing rollers from a roll out room, from a rv. wheel from a furniture dolly.

being a 11' bed makes it perfect length, 8' for the ramp.
3' for a sleeper:
bought some 1" square tubing.
had rolls of sheet metal, haven't used in years,
recently acquired some 2 x 3 lumber ( ripped it down to 1 1/2" x 2"), 2 sheet of Styrofoam, don't know what I got those for. screws left over from wood projects.
As I look around at items to figure out what to do with them...
Remember, I'm trying to move after being here 25 years.
I FIND, more stuff, I Forgot I had..

On to the build>need a secondary exit (Just in case) cut the headache rack , to fit the window I found in an out building. the height of the window determined, the height of the shack....ended up @ 3' 6", I decided to use 4' height, make it easier to keep straight, plus the sheet metal is also 4' wide.
I used a ripped piece of wood as a guide To keep the screws in a straight line, and not miss the board under it.

plans are to use this while hunting and fishing too
so need coolers.. Where to put them ?
Talking to my friend ray, he says I should build it out of 1" x2" steel tube and put a A/C in it,,,
Next thing I know he's loading them into my Caliber....
It sure was "Fun" trying to juggle the pieces to get the A/C mounted

since I still got metal left over
time to make a door frame.
the bottom of a A/C mount, becomes the shelf height @ the rear.
the white cooler if stored above the door 16"
determined the door height.
I bought it the other day inquiring about doors.
it's an odd size, the project is odd anyway

I have been looking for some steps, from an RV.
then decide don't need but one.
got to use a bed frame, if making a sliding step for a sleeper...
to store it out of the way when traveling, cut two pieces of go- cart steering tube, and 2 pieces of bed frame,
notice a lock pin for the band saw, it wanted to come along for the ride, keep the step in place.

Neat and well thought out work! Does the bike ramp thing work kind of like a roll back? Is it hard to control when you roll it off the back? I love home built stuff like that....and just trying to figure out how it works. So, where you headed? You've been in TN a long time. That AC unit is gonna freeze your arse off in that sleeper....lol. You could mount a roll up camper vent on top for some fresh air. Lookin good so far! :)

The first attempt at getting the bike onto the Truck, I bolted a bar at the rear to keep
the ramp from moving. drive up the ramp, bike would want to slide back down, next tried a speed bump / in gear behind the rear wheel.
Nope. not even almost safe.

Now the bar is only used during transport. to keep the ramp from sliding out

about a week later, I decided to build up-right supports. so the bike would stand up with no straps.
load the bike on the ground, strap it down.

push the remote, up it goes....
solution to a slight snag > modify a trailer hitch, add a guide bar to line it up with the rollers.

I'll be heading South.

What I'm building today, is also for later, as a multi- use vehicle...looking for an APU, that runs off diesel.
> keep the coolers cool.... if it gets to cold, open a window, like a dropped top with the A/C on.
My buddy gave me the A/C, with the understanding to use it on this project

worked on the interior
built the bed and upper shelf supports
make 6 slats so far
decided to tie everything together, so it doesn't fall apart from being moved around/ on and off the truck.

I thought I was taking a break> prepping the 72 Swinger for paint.
When I realized> same process- just different materials...lol

Get everything to fit-- then take it back apart to make it pretty...lol

got the vinyl wall covering, Styrofoam fitted.
painted the supports with a left over can of "Hammer tone" black paint.
I forgot I had. putting the can with the Dart, I can apply another coat on it. ( looks like a vinyl top, from a distance).
