a body torque box welds

-
There has been a thread or two in the last few weeks with photos. The search function is your friend.

only ones i can find are new ones they have welded in completely don't think the factory welded all the way around them bill
Google "Mopar torque boxes" and then images. I see a few original photos.

I doubt there were consistant weld locations . And are you looking for front / rear or both ?

Sounds like a concourse resto... what model and options ? Curious...

My 69 Swinger has both . If I remember I will take pics when I get home.

They definitely were not on all 340 or 383 cars. I used to look at a lot of cars at the Mopar Nats trying to figure out a pattern.
I seem to remember they were not on automatic cars. It was rare to see all 4 on the same car. I forget where they were when only 2 were present, most likely the fronts.
Most likely they are on all convertibles.
My 69 A56 'cuda340 has all 4. I really think it was because of the 4 speed combined with the factory 3.91 SG. This car has a lot of HD parts on it. I cut them off when i replaced the front frame rails and T-bar crossmember. I also wanted access behind the back ones to sandblast the rails and floor, then weld them back in. It's been sitting untouched because of other car projects so it's now my retirement project.
I do remember the welds were crude and stick welded, not MIG. As seen it the pictures, they are stitch welded, NOT continuous. Most likely done from a guy welding overhead as the car passed by without much time and dodging the hot BB's..

Pretty sure mine has the rear ones. I'll crawl under this weekend and confirm as it's up on jack stands with bare underside.
