I think Plum Crazy is right.

I have the sliders and metal seat frames..I was going to buy the foam and have the local upholstery make/ install a set of seat covers..he didn't tell me the price when I was there but I think it is going to be high...and unfortunately, what you get is a set of foam seats.

Since we are not doing a resto, I am thinking it would be easier to but a set of seats from the wreckers.. and get ones that really support the body (and maybe have heaters :> ).

Has anyone out there put a set of seats from a Japanese/German car ?

Or what has anyone installed seats that were from a car not in that period..I wouldn't even mind my RAM or 'stang seats

I like the idea of good head rests..

Can anyone help me out ?

Thanks.
Ian.

I use to run Mazda 323 GTX seats in my Valiant.

I just made adapters out of flat steel and used 2 sets of bench rails.

Thanks..I figured that I could use a plate that would attached to teh seat and to the sliders attached in their appropriate places.

Thanks

Their is a thread that shows a guy that put a full volvo interior in it.. I don't have the link right now... But it looked GREAT!
And I know that the late model camaro/firebird seats have a great performance look to them.. But I have no clue if they would fit or not.

seats out of a pontiac firefly here, 95 to be exact

they kinda look like an old school racing seat (one peice buckets) which is why i went with them, and used the tracks i got from those seats and made some raised modified mounts...the seats actually look right at home in the car, except for the fact that they are cloth (but im getting them recovered in black vinyl)...would have cheaper to buy new seats, but these seats look good in the car, are already mounted now, and dont want to buy a new pair lol

imo seats like these look better than sticking in "sport seats", they look kinda out of place in an old school vinyl interior, but thats only me...good luck!

Grassy escort seats your tracks should bolt on,mine did.Plus they are high back with full head rests and come in almost any colour.Big plus I got mine for $50.00 from blenkhorns in Truro.Good luck.

Thank you all for your help !! I knew I wasn't the only person our there thinking of this.

I just e-mailed blinkhorns..yiou don't have the ability to search on your own..

Do you have an "in" there ?

Ian,when you cross the old iron covered bridge to go to williamston before lawrencetown there is a small yard there they have(had, it's been awhile) all kinds of 4 bangers lots of bucket seats, might be hard to find a set that aren't worn out.

Sounds like you know the area..where do you call home ?

I once talked to two dusters that stopped for gas..not high on the friendly scale but it may have been due to the wives sitting in their cars..mine, has absolutely no problem with something like this..hard to find a gal like that..second date, we were putting the exhaust on my mg..I figured if she was going to drive in it, she could help me work on it..lost a few like that :)

Anyway, they told me abiout a auto salvage around bridgewater that was full of mopars..couldn't find it for love nor money..however, i did find a B5 (i think) drag car in the absolute middle of nowhere.

I bet that thanks to Cash for clunkers there are all kinds of great seats out there right now. Many people traded in Volvos, Camaros, Subarus...

I have not been to a pick and pull in years but I have heard there is quite a glut. Long as you don't need a motor.

Ian there is a strong mopar presence in the south shore and valley
http://www.maritimedragracing.com/id8.htm try this for valley car shots. Also there is one in Wilmot not bridgewater. There's a guy Keith something from between middleton and wilmot across from the big scoop, try him for parts.I believe he paints and races, been a few years since I been that way.

That is the name !

I have tried everywhere to rent, beg or borrow a couple of tools needed to redo the 727...it is good but I have all the repair parts but the 2 to 3 shift kit so we figured that we may as rebuild it since it is out of the car..anyway, I met a great guy that runs a transmission shop..I think he has a 72 cuda ? sassy green. Great guy..gave me a great price on rebuild and has offered to show us around. The atlantic nationals will be another place and there is a mopar only in the valley..same time as a race this year..going next year.

Did you know there are 2 superbirds w/wings withing a mile of his shop..they need rebuilds but will not sell..also a feather duster..

You gave me a lot to work with. Where do you live and do you do any shows down here ?

Thanks
Ian.

Ian we live in Mcmurray but we're from New Glasgow, wifes family are from Lawrencetown, unfortunately all the good parts in Pictou county got bought up years ago by a knob who won't sell anything, and if he does then he wants top dollar for it.There's a good show at blaikies in truro mid summer

We were out for a drive one day and found a barn full of roadrunners and satellites southeast side of the river maybe, can't remember exactly. We''ll look you up next summer though when we're home.

Please. I would appreciate it. We are actually going to be home for a change. I live in Port Williams.

There is another Nova Scotian Mopar guy living in Mcmurray that is from Berwick (i believe). he is coming home this summer as well. I will go through my records and get his name.

So far, all the folks I have dealt with on this board have been great..and that includes several locals.

You must be freezing your butt off there..
