A904 question....

Have a 66 barracuda with a 360 motor and a 904 transmission. Transmission wont stay in manually selected 1st gear. Always shifts to 2nd. Shifter won't "click" into first when pulled down to the low slot. Is this something a shift kit would fix or do you think the stock console isn't allowing the shifter to move far enough back? thanks.

Sounds like a simple adjustment of the shifter rod.Good luck.
