Hey guys,
I am just about to wrap up this wiring project (a Ron Francis kit). One of the last wires runs from the voltage regulator to the alternator field stud.
I am using an alternator from an '88 Gran Fury. There are 3 studs on the back from which I can choose. There are no markings on the alternator case to give me a clue as to which one is "Field".
Can anyone help me out please. Stud No. 1, No. 2, or Stud No. 3?
TIA,
C

Studs 1 & 2 should be 2 to 3 ohms between each other, and infinite ohms to case ground.

Those are both sides of the field winding, and connect to each brush.

Thanks fellas, I greatly appreciate it:cheers:
