Would an aluminum bell housing for a 73 3-speed 225 slant six fit my 74 duster 225? The Casting numbers are 2658_957 and 09104-3 with the correct date code of 73. Also, by going aluminum, how much weight is being saved?

any of the slant bells will fit...

the difference being some are drilled (bolt pattern and ID bore) for 3 speed only, and some for 3 speed and 4 speeds, then also for 4 sp OD...

i think some have slightly different fork locations and fork designs as well but cant give you any more than that...

I don't think I have ever seen a cast iron bellhousing in a slant. Every bh I've seen was aluminum, other than a big block cast iron bell. What did iron bellhousings come in?

i think the 67 and earlier stuff did... and maybe trucks but not positive...
