Recently pulled the column out a bit to change a header gasket. The splined end coming out of the manual box has a grooved channel about halfway up the splined section. I lined it up so that the little threaded hex bolt goes into that channel so that the column cant move forwards or backwards. Is this correct or should it be on farther down the splined section? The car is a 71 dart. Thanks.
