I'm going to try to better photo-document build than others in the past. I bought this car from a local guy, with the understanding that he would get rights of first refusal, when done. This will be a LOW budget build to control costs for the PO. It was his mom's car, and would like it back. I hope to get it back to him. It will be built in our HS school shop. Not vocational...just reg. HS kids learning to use tools for the first time. We'll be slow and thorough, building it up the best we can. Safety and reliability first. Will start the build Sept. 2014!

Car: 1965 Barracuda, base 273, auto console shift, open rear, no other options. Light blue / light blue. 86K miles. engine: "something" went wrong and it was parked 20 yrs. ago. Then in and out of the garage.....many sun baked days....many bees nests later, she was nearly sunk in the driveway!

The Plan (as of now!)
Drivetrain: 273/904/7.25 -- Intall 318 or 360 / linkage 904 / 8.75 (LBP)
Upgrade Brakes to 73+ disks (LBP)
Chassis Upgrades: sway bar, braced K frame / LCAs, frame connectors, HD shocks
Misc: dual pot master and all new brake lines, new gas tank, new fuel lines. tires
Interior: new headliner, new carpet, recover front buckets OR replace buckets with aftermarket (whatever is more cost effective!)
Body: NOTHING PLANNED!

Initial Impression? parts car. but in looking closer....no rust through ! ! ! ! small accident damage out back, solid floors. Not even holes in the trunk extensions!!! no rust in the typical early a inner fender tops! This might not be too bad. Still, pretty darn ugly.....

This is going to be a High School build for 2014-2015. I'm in "parts accumulation" mode, getting ready for the kids to dive in - in September.

Here is what I have collected so far for the build:

- extra LCAs/K-Frame to be boxed and braced for a quicker swap-out
- 73+ UCAs and spindles.
- 8.75 rear with new axles, 10.5" brake plates, 742 rear (3.23 open gears)
- Front buckets seats from a 2007 Pontiac G car/
- New 7 pcs interior carpet kit
- replacement core rear bumper, right tail light
- replacement rear deck lid
- 360 engine, ALMOST rebuilt, in process....will be finished red with eddy performer intake
- lockup 904 trans
- B&M shifter.

Looking for: 1 metal tail light socket with pigtail wire RR tail light

So cool. Teach the kids well. I will see if I have a tail light socket when I get home tonight. Almost sure I do.

I do have a plug, but it is not a complete wiring harness. If you can use that PM me your address and I'll drop in the mail Monday. It is a metal plug with about 10 inches of wire. iI worked, I only changed it because I found a wiring harness for the rear.

Thanks! PM sent. Just the socket with a wire stub is all that is needed. It will work perfect!!!!! rest of the harness is fine...

You can see that the right rear took a small hit. The bulb was broken and the base continuously wet in the socket....rusting it into 1 piece. yuck.
