Greetings

I have a 64 Dart GT with the driver round side mirror. I’m not too keen on it, as visibility is very narrow.

I’ve seeb rectangular mirrors on ‘64’s in pictures and today I saw them in person.

Are these factory? I get the feeling that back in the 60’s if the line ran out of parts, they’d improvise. :)

This car had them on both sides. It is a 64 2d hardtop GT.

Thanks
Greg

Nope, not factory. They are likely old replacements bought back in the day for the same visibility reason you stated.

Those are definitely not factory or dealer-accessory mirrors. They're either Ford items or generic aftermarket items.

jake i sold them , and i don't think i have any left to sell . i think that they can be had as a new repop .

Thank you everyone. I like the styling of the original round mirrors, but their narrow visibility is pretty bad.

Thanks again.
Greg

The remote control mirrors of that era are somewhat bigger so might provide some extra visibilty

The outside remote control mirrors look like this below. The standard mirror was a round one like above.
