As I’m sitting in the parking lot waiting on my wife to see her doctor for a 10:45 am appointment. She text me and says she is still in the waiting room! Doctors think that their time is the only thing important. Pisses me off.
No it happens to often to be a hospital emergency or emergency conference call or the chicken ate the fan belt of my car and it overheated. I had a 8:00 appointment at a podiatrist and at 9:15 am i heard him walk in the back door and announce good morning to his staff.and then you have those patients, who make an appointment for a cough
come in and oh yeah, i also have a head ache
and this finger hurts
and my cousin jimmy he read something online
not to mention those who show up 15 minutes late, and insist on being seen, nevermind this puts the entire day 15 minutes behind schedule
i feel you man, i really do
but to say this is a problem that lies solely with the health care provider may be a bit presumptuous
And unless you know for sure the doc was home doinking his girlfriend instead of at the office for your 9 am appointment you don't have a leg to stand on. Geez!
I dont care what the hell he was doing. I know i had a 8 am appointment and i was not seen till 9:30! If that is ok with u than why make appointments? Lets just do first come first serve. I guess your time is worth less than mine. And unless you know for sure the doc was home doinking his girlfriend instead of at the office for your 9 am appointment you don't have a leg to stand on. Did you ask him why he was so late? Were you mad at him or are you just mad at us here because he was late? Maybe he had a emergency. Next time it might be you that needs the help and someone else will be inconvenienced. If he started out a hour and a half behind schedule you can damn well bet he isn't having a good day and probably didn't do it on purpose just to piss you off.I dont care what the hell he was doing. No wasn't sorry nor did he explain why he was late nor did his staff come out to the waiting room where only i sat to explain why he was going to be late. But the girls did collect the co pay at 8 am when i got there! Why would I be mad at you?Did you ask him why he was so late? Were you mad at him or are you just mad at us here because he was late? Couple of our docs have the same sign. And when someone mentions they have been waiting for 45 minutes the receptionist just shrugs her shoulders....and they'll charge you if you're late or have to cancel on short notice, even though they've overbooked.
My last doctor had a sign on the wall that said "Please let us know if you've been waiting longer than 30 minutes past your appointment time".
If you did, they just said "we're running behind".
DUH
Prior to the scamdemic....damn it I mean pandemic our GP was like yours. Hell, many times I had an 11a.m. appointment and got there at 10:30. They take the appointments as they show up, as long as it does not hang anyone up. My appointments are normally about 3 minutes long...nurse takes my vitals..minute or 2 later doc walks in and asks "the usual" and walks off. Unless he is slow and then he likes to sit and chat with us.I must admit, our GP is fantastic. We rarely wait more than 15 minutes.
Yeah....ain't that great? I had an appointment to see a new doc. It was 20* and snowing so we left an hour early. Everything for us is at least a 35 mile drive, this doc was about 40 miles. We got hung up at an accident about 3 blocks from them. We parked the truck in the nearest parking lot and walked. Appointment was at 11:45...we walked in at 11:48. Cancelled. I refused to pay their stupid fee....they sent me to collections....heaven forbid you are late they cancel your appointment...
