Ashcroft drag strip shut down...Now what?

Hi everybody:

I'm posting this up just in case there is someone in BC who knows if there will be another strip started somewhere to pick up the events that are now lost because of the Ashcroft shut down. I still think that Thunder Mountain in Kelowna would be another world completely if it was made into a 1/4 mile instead of just 1/8.

It's happening all over. Strange in this era of muscle car popularity.
The 2 closest tracks to me are under new ownership. At least the new owners decided to keep them open as dragstrips.

It's a the sheer cost of liability insurance. Happening all over, people get sue happy, they win, insurance/track pays , rates go up.
