Looking for recommendations on a good book that covers the fundamentals of LA 360 engine assembly The type of book that the first time engine builder would refer to.
Since Larry Shepherd retired from Chrysler he keeps writing books and its good for us. His latest is" Mopar Small block Engines " performance how to's. It's published by Car tech and the # is SA377 has a publish date of 2016. He is probably the most knowledgeable Mopar Engine guy since he worked for them.
The "How to Rebuild the Small-Block Mopar" by Burt is very well laid out and goes through the process of rebuilding a stock small block using stock parts. Excellent resource for the step by step process that can be modified as needed according to the other two books. I finished the first, and am halfway through the How to Hotrod by Shepard. I think they will be well worth the $70 by allowing me to do some/most of the work myself.
Taylor Don How to Rebuild Small-block MOPAR Engines This is the one I used and it's still popular, because the price keeps climbing. @ $81.00 , so search around. My favorite! Takes you from how to pull the engine to a finished rebuild. https://www.amazon.com/dp/0895861283/?tag=joeychgo-20
