Funny you posted that Lumberjack song. I gotta story about that.

In the 80s there was a club in Macon called Flaming Sally's. They had Jackyl there one Saturday night......we all went. They played the Lumberjack song and the idiot actually had the chain still on the saw. He ended up stickin it right thgouth the ceilin and rippin out some electrical. It was awesome. We laughed our asses off. That was probably one of the last concerts there before they shut it down. There's a bunch of offices in there now.

Every time I have seen them he had the chain on it......he was hacking stuff up on stage......

I'm with inkjunkie on the Metallica post (notice my name lol) but I will listen to anything. Almost.

Over here in Ohio we used to have the Hot Rod Supernationals,, but it has been changed to the Steel Valley Nationals, and is now held at Quaker City Motorsports Park (used to be Raceway). Jackyl will be playing at the track this year, a little under 2 weeks from now.

Sorry to hijack!

i hear you guys with the metalica and metal .....i myself am an industrial metal fan ....my I-pod has to be the most diverse ever ...i even have music in my native langauge and just about everything in between.

i would not be in the mood for the classic country all the time ...but there are times.....it is interesting and does not seem very common.....those old timers sounded pretty good.

Rush wouldn't know music if we dumped every album they ever made on top of em

From someone who hates modern Country/ country-pop, classic country puts a big fat smile on my face.

I love me some Patsy Cline.

I listen to everything, though. And I do mean all kinds of music.

Anything from the mentioned above to Di Antwoord, to Health, Crystal Castles, the Descendents, Type O Negative, Hank Williams, Hank III, Rev. Horton, Pentagram, 808 State, Skinny Puppy, Apoptygma Berzerk, Macklemore, KRS One, East Flatbush Project, Wesley Willis, the XX... Throw it on and I'll listen to anything good by anyone, from any era...

Lately I've been listening to Ghost (aka Ghost BC) doom/ goth metal (Sweden), Di Antwoord pop- hiphop (S. Africa) and to pay homage to locality, the Warlock Pinchers hiphop- comedy (think old Beastie Boys, right after they went from punk rock to hiphop) (Denver, Co.).

I've also been on a female vocal kick lately. If you like more mellow stuff, check out Zero 7 Passing By

With that said, I accidentally liked a Britany Spears song, today. Heard it on the way home from work on the radio. I'm also working on an album cover for a friend's new release record that will hit 500 initial copies on vinyl. They're called Space in Time and have a classic metal sound (Sabbath, Pentagram, Deep Purple, etc.) Maybe I'll post a link to the art and the music when I'm all done.

These are recent, newer tunes I've been jamming.

Old rush is awesome! This new crap they've put out with the noob they hired with their tv show is for the birds

I hate talking, unless it's the new comedy station.

I like some classical, but mostly minors played by Bach (Johan Sebastian) and Beethoven. I'm not big on Mozart. I'm a sucker for the harpsichord, though.

Anybody who has picked up an original GameBoy knows this tune at 11:20~

Anyone who's seen Snatch may know this song, also on harpsichord. ~

I also like russian waltz, which was typical of victorian era carousel and Wurlitzer music machines to use. It's a very off-beat sound, not something I like all the time, but like Rani was saying, there is a time and a place.

One really, really cool corner of Youtube is 1960's psychadelic.

Somebody posted a Deadbolt link. Love those guys! No offense to them, but I almost fell asleep listening to them, at the last Reverend Horton Heat show I went to. They are so lazy sounding, it's fantastic. The drone of the tubes just gets your spine.

my folks worked at a nightclub in BC in the early '70s (I was only 6 or 7 at the time) and the Poppy Family played there- Susan Jacks came to our house (I seem to remember her using my mom's ironing board to get some outfits ready). About all I remember for sure is that she was beautiful:D

I don't need you to tell me to "educate myself." I know what I like, and I like a lot of different stuff. Rush ain't on that list.

Im Rockerdude because of AC/DC's song "Rocker". They are my favorite!

Geez Rob. I remember Flamimg Sally's! which guy were you? lol

....I didn't hangout there, but went there fairly often. They were also one of my customers at the time.

agreed, you listen to what you like and you are entitled to you opinions. But, a general statement that " Rush wouldn't know music " is ludicrous when they are all world renown virtuoso musicians.

Been listening to lots of old Lynyrd Skynyrd these days. If you check out their version, "sounds like Roy" refers to Roy Nichols, not Roy Clark.
