Hi everyone.

I asked this question on a Dodge Van forum I -used- to look at and got a poor response.

1986 Dodge B150, standard trim shorty van. How do the wipers detach from the cowl? There used to be little tabs under the part that goes onto the splined knobs, but after messing around with them one is now non-existent and the other is bent well out of shape. The problem I wanted to take care of initially is the wiper linkage has come apart and I need to get the vent panel off to get to it. But first things first.

It looked to my untrained eye that these tabs would flip outward and the arms would lift off. Perhaps they've never been removed and 32 years later corrosion has taken its toll. I suppose I could ziz wheel them off the splines but then I might run into the same problem at the junkyard when I find new ones.

Any ideas? Thanks everyone.

Lift the arm, flip the tab out and the arm should stay up,lay a thin piece of wood or something similar next to the shaft and use a screwdriver to break it loose and slide it off.
