barracuda needs help!!!

Will a carburetor thats overflowing the float chamber with gas cause black smoke to come out of the exhaust when vehicle is started,i seem to be running really rich and someone told me this is why the black smoke is coming out.It does not burn oil.

Sure will as it will pull too much fuel out of the idle circuit Adjust the float level and you should be good to go
