what type/brand gaskets work best for a early 70's 318 ?
basically a stock motor with a aftermarket aluminum intake.

I was told that the composite work better than the steel on the intake and rubber worked better than cork on the valve covers.

felpro intake and head gaskets,,,,oil pan,,,, felpro or mopar performance for valve cover gaskets

I try to find 5/16 cork valve cover gaskets. Then I paint some of that brown permatex sealant on the mounting surface of the valve cover(The one with the little white bottle, with a brush) and place the gasket on that. Then I mount the cover onto the head just enough to where it will hold the gasket in place to dry. After that very lightly tighen the valve cover bolts, crank the engine, and slowly tighten the valve covers till they stop leaking. After that I clean the small mess of oil off and give all the valve cover bolts a slight turn to tighten them alittle more. For some reason I have never had any luck with rubber valve cover gaskets. Not on any mopar or the waukesha engines at work.

As far as brand, I like Fel Pro like everybody else.

thanks for all the replys

looks like FelPro it is
