Biggest Cam in a 360?

-
I am lookin at the whiplash to its just that you said that it has good power and sound. I figured you were a reliable source and didnt have to ask again thats all. And the comp cams one I got a buddy willin to sell a new one to me for 100 bucks.

If you can pick up a good XE268 for $100 you can beat that in a mild street 360 for the money.

The whiplash will give you a little better power depending on your combo maybe and nastier idle forsure

Just my 2 cents, I didn't pick this cam for the sound it was all about performance. I was lucky to get both !
This is an often over looked Comp Cam that really does perform. Get specs for a decent street car with a 2-6 grand power band.

Sounds bad like a funny car. Do you know what's in it?

Sport360 - that sounds great!!!
OldManRick - sounds like a nice tame, street cam, LOL ... bad-***!!!!

LOL, ya it's a little choppy but really works nice.
I had the whole engine designed by one of the best Mopar guys in the business this time. After driving it, I know I went the right way with this one.
He matched everything from top to bottom and said that these cams (for a street only car) are pretty tough to beat. It helps to have all the major head work done on his CNC machine.
Tim Banning of FHO is a good friend of mine and he did all the machining and spec's. http://www.forhemisonly.com/customerpics.html

Would you mind sharing the details?

Is it a NEW Thumpr cam? If it is, buy it. That's a good deal. One more time and then I am out of this. The Whiplash and Thumpr grinds are DESIGNED to do EXACTLY what you are looking for. I cannot be any clearer than that. Will other cams work? Sure, but there's a certain amount of guesswork involved. With the Thumpr and Whiplash grinds, all the guesswork has been removed. If it's a small cube like a 318 or if it's a close to stock 340 or 360, pick one of the smaller thumpr or Whiplash grinds. An engine with more kick? One of the larger ones. Just know that the larger you go, the more you'll need to match converter and gear. The smaller grinds are much more forgiving but will still deliver a good solid thump. Jesus man. You're on a forum with 25K people. You can ask each one and get a different answer. Research what I've told you. Go to the Hughes and Comp sites and READ. You'll see they say the same thing.

...and just to be clear........I'm not trying to say my way is the only way. I am simply trying to give you a concise, answer that WILL work for you. PERIOD.

Good luck with the second cam in those youtube clips... You planning on a bunch of new parts too, like rockers, pushrods, springs and retainers and no vacuum?

The first one, whiplash, is a better choice

Find out the spring rate, seat and open pressure that the recommended Hughes springs have and then go find a cheaper alternative. I like Hughes stuff, but it's HIGH. As long as get equalivant specs from another spring, you'll be fine.

you may want to look at isky cams as well.ive used a few of their mega cams over the years with good results.the 270 mega would be as big as id go for what your doing, and it wont break the bank.

I have a mopar performance .455/272' in a stock low compression 318. Runs good and a little lump to its idle.

my 360 with a big mutha thumpr and headmen shortys this was the first fire up it needs alot of tweaking

As for Strokerscamps Crower reference,it is the Hydraulic Hauler line.Split pattern(10 degrees or more), on a 108 l/c. I put one in a. 11 to 1 Pontiac 400 years ago.More midrange torque, and crackety-crack than any other car I ever owned.2.5" over. The axle with super turbos would not tame the sounds
