I posted on fbbo but thought I might as well try here while waiting? 66 charger project has started and I'm bolting panels on,the question is what should the gaps be at fender to cowl, fender to hood?? thanks for any help in advance,Mike

there is no proper answer...all cars are different, and u will cheat in places just to get everything to fit as a whole

a 1/8 to 1/4" use a paint stick to measure and keep them even.

There was no standard. Whatever fits and looks decent. Make sure you don't catch an edge though. That's a show-stopper.

i am with Adamr on this one use the stick everywere will look like a pro did the lineing up.

As long as they are all the same throughout the car is what matters.

I disagree, to tight will cause problems with body flex or if you bump something. To wide looks like crap.

I dont think we disagree,

I agree too wide looks like crap...but when the door is off from front to back or the hood isnt flush with the fenders it looks awful.

If you are using the gaps as they came on the car I want them even.....I prefer to have the gaps built up with a tig, ground flush to be made straight, even and tight.
