It seems every manufacturer now does braided hose. Is there really a big difference between brands. Say Summit V Russell?.

Is there a major difference in quality if running oil versus transmission fluid thru these hoses?.

Heh. I've heard plenty of complaints about Summit's cheapo line of hoses. Frankly, I'd stick with known performing name brands. There are a few. some guys like Fragola. Oreme, Russel, Aeroquip, Earl's......... there are others.

I'm no expert on them but from my own personal experience I can tell you that you may struggle more working with the cheaper brands. They seemed to fray more when cut so it's harder to assemble the fittings. The cheaper fittings also seemed to mar more easily. It's as though the anodizing isn't as hard or maybe the aluminum that the fittings are made from is a softer alloy. I've used stuff from Summit, Earl's, JEGS, RUSSEL, and others. They all work but my experience has been that the pricier ones seem to be better quality.
