breakin oil

Once a motor is broke in and youv got a few miles on it..how long does one leave the breakin oil in it..used comp cams breakin additive ..j

i change it pretty much right after break in. start with a perfectly clean drain pan and dont drop debri in it while draining oil. I like to look very closely at the oil after break in. look for metal shavings and that sort of stuff. I also cut the oil filter open and check it for evidence of failing parts.

I generally run it 500 miles than change.

Don't switch too soon to synthetic oil, I've heard of more than a few problems with the rings not fully seating because the synthetic is too lubricative!!

500 miles is the general guideline!
