Finally got the 1973 Lemon Twist 340 Duster project home. She's a hot mess but it's a pretty solid body. The Diver quarter is a tad soft but the rest of the car is rock solid. It's an honest Factory H code 340 car equipped with bucket seats and factory floor shift which makes it a relativity rare car. Too bad the factory 340 is long gone.

The plan will be to build a hot street/strip car with a w2-headed 408. Going to pick up a couple of 360 motors today. I got a line a 8.75 rear housing, now I need to find a K-frame and suspension stuff.

I plan to ship the car off to the stripper in a week or so to see what really comes back. Under the black rattle can primer is the original Lemon Twist paint and it looks like the body has never been worked on.

Excited to get started....:blob:

Sounds like a great build. I vote painting it Lemon Twist. I think Dusters look very cool in yellow and very few cars look good painted yellow.

Just picked up a 1972 360 short block and trans along with another 1985 360 motor for $300

I'll tear down the 72 motor tonight and see how it looks. :happy1:

Should be a nice ride when you finish. I like Lemon Twist on Dusters/Darts/Demons...

it will be wonderful for you to have a totally clean body to work on!!!! just don't leave it in the vat too long!!! then dtm epoxy everything!!!!!! remember the plants were able to DIP that body in primer up to a certain level.

I had a yellow duster back in the 90's. i'm not a fan of yellow but it looked GREAT on the duster I thought! I swear on a flat road it could be seen coming 50 miles away!!!!!!!
