HI. Have you any experience or info on these harmonic balancers , Very low priced. C.A.T # HBF 318 . I saw something on a ford page and they mostly said Crap .
I got one with a 340 i bought ,and yes.it seems to be a very tight fit in the crank. Guess it's ok to use then. Thanks for inputI got one in chrome, looks great. Fit and finish is A1 (tight as F on the crank snout though) get the 135 ft/lb torque wrench out. Its a heavy **** and thick as a phone book. They say the intertia ring 'floats' so its not really rotational weight...Yeah, OK.
Brand new is mine too.I have a brand new one never run that i would let go of, if anyone is intrested im sure we could make us both a good deal on it?
Didnt know that....Catpep is still in Chino, Procomp is straight outta Compton. Speedmaster is in Rialto...? I think Catpep still makes alot of stuff that is rebranded with anyones logo. But they still have an AOL email address? Holy smoke signals Batman!I bought a CAT Mopar flywheel that was drilled incorrectly... never again. BTW... CAT became ProComp which is now Speedmaster. They are trying to hide their past failures.

Interesting page and site.Thanx.Take a peek at this thread from Speedtalk... it's about Speedmaster aluminum blocks but also talks about ProComp/Speedmaster parts. These guys are mostly engine builders and racers. They know of what they speak.
