I am running a Holley 4160 with 67 primary jets and secondary plate ontop of my 318. The carb is the older style, more or less what was on stockers, with the square looking bowls. This is on top of a Edelbrock Performer intake, with stock small valve heads, XE268 cam, TRW 8:5:1 comp stock pistons, Hooker headers, blowing through a 2.5" exhaust with FM 40's. The gears are 3.21s and the trans is a 904, with a TF2 kit and Hughes 2200-2500 stall TC.

The carb is rated at 600 cfms and I am not running any spacer.

Should I continue to utilize this carb, or should I look into something more performance minded? It is mainly a cruiser, but sees the strip once and a while.

That carb should be just fine for a cruiser. I would not go a lot bigger than that. Mabby could go up to a 650. Much bigger than that and mpg and drivability will suffer.
