Last time I checked just about all Shivvie distributors rotated CW, and just about all Ferds rotated CCW????



Chevy/ford distributor - $175 (Cda)

A practically new chevy distributor with a ford adapter. Can be used for chevy again. Use to your liking

Last I knew, Y block distributors turned CCW along with the rest 'o the "modern day" Ferds, LOL

You know, I believe you're right. It's been a few years since I've had to dick with the 239 in the '54. And the car itself sits 15 minutes away...

Damn it, Del, now you've got me thinking about it! lol
 
Would it matter which way it turns. As long as you got the right gear to make it turn the way you want? Vacuum advance would be AFU.
 
It matters if the dist. has mechanical and or vacuum advance, and there might be other issues like thrust from the gear helix.

You can't just "gear" it the other way without changing the cam gear.
