70 340 4spd 6 pack
Hello everyone, I wanted to share pictures of the new billet CNC machined Six Pack air cleaners that were just prototyped. One for each carb instead of a single oval. The filter area is larger than the carb throat area and the base plates are all machined with smooth "venturi" like curves into the carbs. These are all 6061T6 aluminum and the swirl marks shown in the photos are very small and could be polished out easily.
These are mounted on my 1970 Dart and the front carb clears the hood by 1/2". We may need to lower them a little for more clearance. And yes all three are the same dimensions which is why the front air cleaner appears to be spaced farther away than the other two. It is possible to shift the bases so they look even, but then each air cleaner would have a different base plate which is not a great idea for production.
Before we modify the CNC files I was hoping to get any comments or feedback anyone cares to share. If this is a bad idea, please feel free to share those thoughts too!
If there's enough interest then the company may make a production run in the near future. Interest will determine how quickly they are produced, a lot of interest will result in production this year.
I know- everyone wants to know what these will cost. Being prototypes the numbers are not in for production runs yet. I'm guessing they will run around $600 a set for small volume runs.
