Column shift linkage to trans same from /6 to V-8?

Buddy asked me if converting from /6 with 904 to V-8 with 904 can he use the /6 column shift linkage? Does he need V-8 shift linkage? Thanks!

my shift linkage on a 70 and 71 dart worked going from a 6 to a 8. make sure the new trans has all the same holes where the linkage would go.

Shift linkage should be the same, but he'll need the V8 kickdown linkage.
