Do I have this sure grip option all wrong? On reading brochures from the 1960's and 1970's, what I interpret with the sure grip option is a 3.55 or 3.91 (or 4.10) ratio offered. I don't seem to find the sure grip option with 3.23 (or higher). However, I do find many 8 3/4 carriers (these days) for sale with sure grip and 3.23 ring and pinion. ??

Sure grips were also available with 2:76, i've seen lots of them.........
Dana 60s on b and e bodies all had sure grip standard in all years.
Basically, it was an option available on all years and rear ends with all ratios including the 7 1/4 rear.

Those brochures didn't have all options available. I know for a fact my Dad's brand new 69 Charger came with a 3.23 with sure grip

My 67 Fastback had factory trailer tow with 8 3/4" 3.23 sure grip...

Not to mention, that no matter what gear ratio the sure grip originally came with, you can always buy another gear set to install...

I have a super clean 2.94 SG from a trailer package 67 Coronet 4 door.

Me too. 66 Charger 2.94 sure grip and a 64 Belvedere 2.76 sure grip.

I have a 489 , 3.23SG with 7290 yoke just pulled from a 69 B-Body which was never apart

There are 3 series and 4 series sure grips. 3 series gearsets wont work on 4 series carriers.

I could be wrong but i think the 3.23 S.G. was standard for the 340 Duster with the option for 3.55 and lower
