What can I upgrade now?
Currently, I am running a Hughes 2300-2500 convertor in my 904 with a TF-2 shift kit. My rear gears are 3.23s and I run 28" tall BFGs on the rear. The motor is a .030 over 318, with reworked and ported stock heads, Comp XE268 cam, Eddie 600 carb, Performer intake, Hooker headers, full 2.5" exhaust and flowmaster mufflers. The pistons are TRW 8:5:1.
I turn about 2800 at 65 mph currently with this converter and combo in my Duster and it runs mid 14s consistantly. Is there a better converter out there for this setup? Would I be wise in bumping up to a 3000 stall?
Just on the constant effort to extract and tune for max performance.
