couple 'installing heads' questions

ready to throw my heads on the 360, small block

my chrysler book says to use thread sealer, then in the next paragraph it says to use oil on the head bolts... which is correct?

also would i spray copper stuff on the mopar head gaskets?

Oil or ARP lube and no to the copper spray unless your running metal head gaskets.

The first thing I would do is to be absolutely sure the bolt holes are clean, if not it can throw off your torque numbers. NO copper spray if not the steel gaskets. A light weight oil should suffice for the bolts.

Lastly be sure and follow the proper torque sequence in graduated steps.
