My dash panel was bastardized by a previous owner to replace the radio. Left the usual rectangular hole. The rest of the panel is restorable but is there any way to fix it to accept an original thumb wheel radio?

The original radio will fit even with the cutout bezel you have but it won’t look great. If your plastic surgery skills are good and you’ve got a second bezel where the wood grain is gone but doesn’t have the radio piece cut out, you can cobble the two together. Best bet will be finding a bezel in great shape to start with or get an uncut one restored.

Buy the wood grain inserts from Detroit Muscle. They are very solid and will cover up repair underneath. I converted my non ac bezel to ac by splicing a piece in. Put the wood grain inset on it and you can’t tell now.

Are you talking the metal innerstructure or the plastic trim?
