Dart/Valiant Fender diff.

For our project 65 Barracuda, I was looking for a lower fender patch, for behind the front wheels. I scored one here, at it looked to be the same, but I knew it was from a Dart.

We cut the old piece off, and squared up the donor part; Low and behold, the dart fender patch was ~ 1/2" narrower than the removed barracuda
section.

Not a big deal at all. we split the donor part and added a 1/2 filler. Piece of cake. Tabs added to make it easier for the kids to weld. Picts to follow. off today due to Pres. day.

BTW:
I'm aware the the profile may not be EXACT...but damn its very very close,
Also: I'm aware about eventual rust in the backer strips. But heck, I'll be long gone before thats really an issue on this thing! lol
 
I always thought that dimension was the same on the early A cars. It must be because of the wheelbase difference between the Dart and the Barracuda. I think the darts are 111 and the Cuda/valiant is 106?

That was in the floor pan. If you look at his pics the Dart fender is actually shorter than the Valiant.
