Looking to change my dash pad on my 73 swinger,it seems to be a pain to do,any comments on how to or the easiest way to ?.....

I have to do mine. I decided to wait until winter and tear everything out because it is going to be a *****. There was a thread here earlier with explanation and pics. I used the search function and found a bunch. The easiest explanation is ... "you'll need to remove the instrument panel, glove box , etc.. to access the attaching hardware. 5 hex nuts across the top and 1 sheet metal screw in each of the turned down ends hold it on."

I have done several . They aren't all that bad , but the metal dash structure will draw blood at some point or another . The worst part of the whole thing is dropping the steering column to take out the instument panel .

evreything is sharp on that dash frame but its not that hard just take as much stuff off and out as you can to make it easier

Just did mine. 72 Challenger. Take your time. If you run into a problem take a break. AND YES the metal dash frame will draw blood.

wow, looks like alot of work.....hmmm....might go the dash cover route, anybody need a green dash pad....
It's not as bad as it looks and after 40 years or so, it's time to overhaul every thing in there anyway!

trust me change the pad out you will be so happy with

Before Green

After BLACK
