Is there a difference in the diameters of A body deck lid locks? I have a lock that just falls through the opening in the rear panel of my Demon. If there is a difference, can someone tell me where I can get one for the Demon? I don't need one with keys because I'm going to have a locksmith key it to keys I already have. PM me if you have one, please.

Thanks,

Bill S.

They were all one size during the Demon years.....'71-2. Sounds like someone punched the lock and ruined the hole in the panel. To put a stock lock back in, you'll need to have a body guy fix the hole so it will accept the correct lock cylinder.

I'm not really sure the lock I have is for the Demon. I thought I saw a thread that said there were two different sized locks for the early and late A-bodies. If someone could measure say a 67 lock and a 72 lock, and even a 73 lock, it might be helpful.

The change from the small clip-in lock cylinder to the bigger bolt-in one occured in late '73.

First two pics are from the Demon. Next two are from a 75 Duster.

The Duster lock was 1 3/8 across.

Demon was 1 1/16

Hole in Demon tail panel was 1X1 across from notches and 7/8 in the non notched areas.

Duster hole was 1 in across and 1 1/4 up ad down.
