Dipstick won't go back in

This honestly sounds like a really stupid problem to have.

Pull the tube/stick. And inspect the whole thing. Why keep trying to shove it in there when it obviously has some kinda problem?
 
Problem SOLVED...

I had a couple of friends come over to help with the problem, and the end result to success was to turn the dipstick 180 degrees, insert, give a little twist, and it goes in.
I tried reinstalling in the same way I removed it (finger pull on the right), but if it's on the left, it works.

Many thanks to all those that tried supplying fixes, and even those humorous responses.
