I am having trouble seeing the picture of your fuel pump.

How could you ever tell if the pump arm was going to hit? It's hidden behind the timing cover. I assume the pump arm is what your concerned about, but as OKcollecter said we can't see what your talking about without any pics and your description is pretty vague.

Incidentally, I've used 4 or 5 different double roller chain sets and never had a problem with the pump arm hitting.
